Whippz Crow (The Burning Crows)

Whippz Crow (The Burning Crows)

The Burning Crows are by far one of my favourite up and coming bands at the moment. After seeing them tear it up with Glasgow earlier in the year with Estrella and Komatoze the Norwich lads got a great slot at this year’s Hard Rock Hell festival and blew both myself and about a good chunk of the festival goers completely away with their 45min set of rock & roll perfection. After their set and a few pints front man Whippz was kind enough to take some time out and talk to us here at RockFusion about the current tour Read more »

Hayley Leggs (Nympherno)

Hayley Leggs (Nympherno)

Anyone who has been to a metal festival over the past couple of years is almost guaranteed to have seen the girls from Nympherno there at some stage. Granted you may only know them as the hot, leather and latex laden girls who, among other things have quite the passion for fire. This year at Hard Rock Hell the Nympherno girls where out in force once again and taking to the stage with many bands over the course of the weekend. From the likes of Attica Rage, Jettblack, Bonafide and Fozzy these girls brought the heat and wowed audiences all Read more »

BST

BST

Hailing from Sweden and formed in 2009, BST are a band not to be missed. Inspired by the heavy metal of days gone by BST combine an energetic stage presence and technically brilliant instrumentals topped off by incredibly powerful vocals. Having played all over Southern Sweden in theatres, clubs and bars and releasing their debut EP, Optical Illusion, in 2010 which garnered mainstream success in their homeland being played frequently on national radio. Thin Lizzy

Thin Lizzy

Sadly in the days of Phil Lynott I had not yet drawn a breathe so I can’t fairly comment or compare the new line-up with Ricky Warwick to the original. Yes I can watch a million videos on YouTube and DVD. But that’s not quite the same as seeing it in person. We start a bitterly cold Glasgow evening off with the opening act, Triggerfinger. Truth be told I wasn’t a huge fan of what they did. Their songs didn’t resonate with me, they didn’t make me want to hear more. If anything they all sounded kind of samey. I Read more »

Remembering Dimebag Darrell

Remembering Dimebag Darrell

8 years ago today in Columbus, Ohio a lone gunman by the name of Nathan Gale inexplicably took to the stage during a Damageplan gig and shot and killed Dimebag Darrell Abbott. The band’s head of security Jeff Thompson also died during the incident attempting to subdue Gale as well as a member of the audience attempting to save the lives of both Dimebag and Thompson. With numerous casualties including Damageplan’s tour manager and drum tech, John Brooks. Brooks was taken as a hostage by the gunman by being put in a headlock. It was the bravery of Officer James Niggemeyer Read more »
